Plastic recycling center tied into environmental racism
Regenerating waste stop propose is a plastic recycling plant + production center that will use recycled plastic gathered from the Buffalo Bayou to make panels for buses, bus stops, and bus shelters to support for more sufficient and adequate public transportation in the Harrisbyurg / Manchester community.
The building will have an on-ground, under-building bus stop area for buses to travel into the island and increase accessibility for the community residents to visit and for workers employed at the recycling plant + production center to commute in and out of the island.
The production center will be run by the Harrisburg / Manchester community to provide for more jobs and employment to the low-income residents and also for the residents to be directly engaged in the process of recycling and repurposing plastic in benefit of their own community.
